Hello & Welcome to Flamingo!

*Sidenote - would you believe this is my second attempt to write my first blog! My laptop crashed and it never saved!! So here goes, lets see if i can remember what i wrote first time round!!

Hello!

Well as most of you know we opened the doors to Flamingo in Midleton almost 2 years ago on the 12th May 2018, and yes, we do have a birthday celebration coming up, and yes, we will celebrate in style! Any excuse for a party!!

It was always a dream of mine to run my own business and with the encouragement from friends and family my dream came true. (Alot of encouragement from my husband Damian!) We've had a fantastic 2 years and the business is going from strength to strength. We have a great team here at Flamingo, Alison, Eimear & Amy have years of retail and styling experience between them and they absolutely love to look after all our wonderful customers.

We had BIG plans for 2020, new labels, more events, launching a website, the store was getting a makeover and lots more....Fast forward to the 16th March and everything changed, we have had to think fast and change our business to survive. We managed to build a website ourselves within about 10 days (Thanks Eimear!) and on the 10th April we made Good Friday a GREAT Friday and went live with www.lovetheflamingo.com The support and kindness our loyal customers have shown us has been fantastic, we even have lots of new customers to join our flock of Flamingals!!

Social Media has always been a very important part of our business, we always try to have lots of fun and show you ladies real life women on our social media platforms. During these tough times I made a decision that we were going to continue to stay upbeat and positive, and the feedback from you all has been genuinely lovely. Don't get me wrong there's been days when i've had a good old cry but i'm someone that will always be looking for that bit of blue sky on a cloudy day, so no matter what's thrown at me, i'm going to get through this as a business because i 100% LOVE what i do.

What's next for Flamingo? Our New Blog section of our website will have some fab guest bloggers/influencers over the coming weeks, so stay tuned. Follow our social media @lovetheflamingo, for some fab IGTV's with guest influencers but for now we are online www.lovetheflamingo.com and we can't wait to open our doors to all our lovely customers again.
